Sea Ahoy
10 days back, I made my way across the kaala-paani to the place where no one was to be seen regulary in the 40s - mumbai offshore.. off the west coast of india. Have been here for the past week and a half and have been moved from one platform to another, in a bid to understand, and learn about the place :)
So far so good, the bomb dropped last thursday, when an unexpected trainee (read me) moved over to the rig to just be a silent observor to a campaign, I was made the night supervisor - a display of dis-belief, nervousness, and dunno what showing up on my face at that moment. 5 nights post, I must say, it's been fun, though pretty tough, considering that you dont have much to do if nothing's happening. And slowly one needs to kill his time through those 12 hours... waiting, dozing, snoozing the dozing, taking the readings, and not to forget, eating at all the possible hours, that one'd eat at, just 12 hours of lag wrt indian time zone.
So much for my job et al. Going to be in delhi this weekend, and for the next few days to come after that. Hopefully will live after 14 days of offshore. Not a girl in sight. Well, almost. There's a woman on the rig. Highly unimportant. Now, I wonder if IIT was better! :P
Why this post at 1.50 PM? Well, just had a safety drill, and the sleep was mercilessly murdered, and now it will not come, come what may. So, life that it is, is sad for the moment. Just for the moment I must say.

Done
well, almost with life here. Just a few more days to go. Today, I went and met the dean for the nth time for the film society. He said that the registrar had managed to form some ad hoc committee, which would look into the closing of the affairs of the film society. And, this letter had gone to the director for approval. I just out of curiosity checked the Director's office, to realise that they hadn't received any communication actually! I reconfirmed with the dean, and he shouted on the PA to the Registrar, with the registrar actually absconding for a meeting in Mantralaya!
Other than that, I had today plans of South Bombay, with Karthik and Sarmistha, which I ditched coz of a headache, and some useless talk by people. Trying to sleep, I didn't get any, and I convinced Doodhi to come with me to Cafe Churchill after his job. Job reminds me, that I need to go for a full medical checkup at Lilavati Hospital tomorrow morning at 8.30! All this for my job requirements. Coming back to the food, we drove on Anchal's khatara Pulsar, and got there in record 1 hr! :P Had pasta and lasagne, followed by cheese cake and mango tart at Theobroma's. Then a customary stop at the marine drive, and back drive to IIT in 45 straight minutes. Fun outing. A change of mind. Good for me :)

dilli mein
I haven't really taken the time to update the web about my life. So, before this year ends, I'd post a few things so that this blog remains active... or just about it.
I have a Job :) British Gas took the pains to employ me, placing me right outside the campus of IITB - Hiranandani - a place that I call IITB-Extension. :) Now comes the tough question: Do I just hang around in my wing a year longer, to save that extra buck, and finally buy my camera? or do I "save" like every other mortal and try to buy that camera? :P
Other than that I fell in love, and rose again, unscathed. Presently, I am in Delhi, using my sister's laptop to blog. My PC has crashed, my dad wont allow me to use his, and my sister has been kind enough, after lots of pains, to allow me to use hers. Thanks to her, and kudos to my convincing skills :)
So, nothing more to blog - u can see how good I am at summing up my useless life, for people in Delhi - do call - 098699 22303 and meet me soon :D
