back in IIT!!!
Those who have me on their Yahoo! messenger friend list would be ready to kill me coz i have had this status message for the past week now. :)
Well, I guess, the title pretty much rounds it up. I had to forfeight the idea of going home before coming to IIT, to pay my academic fee for the coming semester. Just to enter/re-enter an indian system can some-times be such a pain in the neck, you never know when you'll snap. Paying the fees was the easiest part. but then, as I expected, the room allotment, was a pain in the ass. Took me a full week to get the hall manager of the requred hostel to give me a room in the upper floors (the ground floor is always avoided, coz of the mosquitoes, and other similar and many different reasons). He kept on saying that there weren't any rooms free. But, after a little of personal snooping around, and a little pressurisation of the general secretary, and some other influential people of the hostel, I finally did manage to get what I was looking for! A room on the 2nd floor.
So much done, today, ECell planned to send some ex-ecell and present ecell members for an M-TV shoot of the show Kya Baat Hai!. The issue for discussion was vauge, as in neither the production team, nor the host were sure of what to do. A show that would take no more than 2 hours to shoot, took a huge 4hr30m to finish, and that left my ever hungry stomach to cry for a good lunch. A lunch with the crew and cast of the show, and discussing about what else goes on in each other's lives was a nice way to kill time, and get out of the now-so-normal IIT paper work way of time-waste.
After that, the 4 of us went on to Haji Ali, to have a nice place to while off some time, and take in some fresh air.
Finally by 7 when i make it back to IIT, (that is after a full hour in the trains), and I call a friend of mine, to ask for his co-ordinates, I am pleasingly informed that he and another chap are leaving for V.T./C.S.T., which would have been just a stone throw distance from Haji Ali! :(( And then, to my own amazement, I decided to join them on the trip, with the idea of a good dinner always in prospect . had some at a parsi place, that B Vinod is a fan of, and finally after B and Shrini got enough time to take the pics for their blogs, we trodded our way back to IIT, slow and unsteady :)
And then, I get back to this computer of my friend, chatting away, checking mails for the first time in more than 12hrs, a long time since the flgiht from Sydney to Mumbai. Tomorrow, hopefully, I shall be shifting to my new room, looking for my belongings in so many rooms, don't know how shall I be finding all of the crap. Lets see!
